Charlotte O'Connor is 2nd Horn of the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic and an Associate member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. She also appears with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, the Fort Wayne Philharmonic and South Dakota Orchestra. Additionally, Charlotte is a guest master class clinician at various universities with an active horn studio of middle school and high school students.
In 2017, Charlotte was awarded a Master of Music degree in Horn Performance with Randy Gardner at the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati. In October 2015, Charlotte made her debut as an orchestral soloist with the Seven Hills Sinfonietta playing Schumann's Konzertstück for Four Horns as third horn.
Charlotte received a Bachelor of Music degree in Horn Performance from Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. She was in studio with Jeff Nelsen and also studied natural horn with Richard Seraphinoff. She performed with Jeff Nelsen the world premiere of Nunc Dimittis: Cantical of Simeon. During the 2013, Charlotte furthered her studies abroad with Wolfgang Vladar (horn, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra) in Vienna, Austria. Charlotte was honored to have been named a Jacobs Scholar for outstanding musicianship and IU Founders Scholar for sustained academic excellence.
A native of North Texas, Charlotte was a student of Gregory Hustis (ret.) and Haley Hoops of the Dallas Symphony Orchestra
prior to university. She continues to study with Ms. Hoops.
